As is so often the case, I am in another part of our wonderful earth: this time South India, Kerala. And here, far away, I find out again what travel does in me. This became clear to me in a conversation I had on the plane to Dubai with a young man. I don’t use names in my reports because I don’t think the people I’m talking to assume they’ll be mentioned anywhere. He is studying in Germany and is now going to Cape Town for an internship abroad. I haven’t seen a man so hungry for life, open and interested in traveling for a long time. During our conversation, which at the beginning was all about traveling, I felt what a great gift it is for me to get the opportunity to take and take the opportunity to travel from time to time in my life. And how nice it is to simply not take everything you are used to for granted. Nothing really to be able to plan, because everything can come differently on such trips … To be able to discover new things and see what changes. To be able to walk with your belongings on your back, to have everything with you, to feel as free as never before … I experience that when traveling. In addition to this beloved freedom, it enables me to feel at a distance from everything that is in my life. And I feel this distance is beneficial for me and my soul from two different perspectives. For one thing, to keep feeling how grateful I am. For my family, my loved ones and friends around me, but also all the wonderful people I can get to know through my job and with whom I can spend my everyday life. And secondly, to be able to look at and sort them. To look again and again and ask me the questions: Which people are good for me in my life? What is good for me What should I bring more into my life, what should I reduce? And that is the freedom that everyone has. Grab a piece of paper or answer the questions in your mind in order to enjoy your life with more distance and more consciously. On the way from outer to inner growth in Kerala …
